Pakistani journalism helps people who are on the winning side. These days they are taking sides with the rulers but they know that they all are corrupt and mafias. In many other countries, mainstream media is under the control of the government itself but in most countries, media is free because they know the importance of media and every word they spoke and their effect on people’s minds. Other types of media like print media have also had a lot of effects, many people who are literate and so read these types of media. The modern media type is blogging and posting on different apps like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These apps are very influential these days and affect most people because these apps reach every person’s mind and change their thoughts.

First of all, we should talk about mainstream media which we watch on TV and now on pocket mobiles, computers, laptops, and tabs as well. This mainstream media is also called mass media because this media is only for the people to watch. They usually have talk shows in which journalists sit and talk about the economy and other issues like our politics or issues about the government and democracy. These people can also guide the government because they are researchers of the issue and explain the issue completely with their solutions.

Second all, there are social media that contains independent content writers and the audience,, and people choose content for themselves. Mass communication is now 50% carried away via this social media thing and it’s getting more popular day by day. Because every 2^nd person has smartphones in their hands and has internet access in this modern world so the news of one country becomes global and the media made the world a global village. We heard the news as soon as it happened anywhere in the world all because of smartphones and the courtesy of the internet.

In my opinion, social media is more real and effective as compared to mainstream media because organizations and elite people control the mainstream according to their own will and so they, mainstream media, is tempering our thoughts and so it is poison for our society. My will is that the media should come under the government and they should control the whole media honestly and for the sake of their people. All great nations have their media controlled by their ruling governments. It includes the United States of America, China, and Russia. These countries have control over their media and so they control the whole country and their thoughts. They have negative effects as well as people’s thoughts will be bound and social media is also controlled by the government so they will not have freedom of speech but the country will grow. On the other hand, mass media want to earn money in any way whether they got it from under the table or from by good means. They don’t care what people will think of them if they have been proven wrong or what will happen to their media cell. In recent days, main media streamers are lobbying from which they are getting funding like political parties and some businessmen to overlook their faults and show the world their bright side so their future won’t get dark and they make money continuously. This is the world we are living in but they don’t know that honesty is the best policy not only for commoners but also for special whether they are celebrities or they are politicians. This is the main reason I want mass media under the watching of the government so they would not try to mess with people and their power. Government should place these notorious journalists and companies in their due place so they would not think of themselves as bigger than some institution.
